The B8200 is a versatile unit utilized in various ZTE base stations, including both macro and distributed base stations. In macro base stations, it seamlessly integrates into the cabinet, supporting ZTE's indoor and outdoor macro base stations like ZXSDR BS and ZXSDR BSA/BSB. When functioning within a distributed base station, it connects to either the RF System Unit (RSU) or a Remote Radio Unit (RRU) inside the cabinet.

The B8200 also supports distributed stations such as the ZXSDR BS and the outdoor compact base station ZXSDR BS. For outdoor deployments, it fits snugly into site support cabinets.

These solutions utilize efficient power supplies, solar energy, and liquid cooling technologies to cut down on maintenance and power costs.

Equipment Room to Cabinet: Site Energy Efficiency Improved to Over 90%

High-precision communication equipment historically required air-conditioned rooms. However, the global reach of communication networks necessitates such facilities in diverse environments, leading to high setup and operating costs. Therefore, transitioning to outdoor cabinets has proven to be a cost-effective solution. Since 2009, ZTE has pioneered outdoor full-function cabinets, merging power supply, transmission equipment, baseband processing, and more.

ZTE's latest outdoor modular cabinets, introduced in the 5G era, significantly improve heat dissipation and energy efficiency, achieving rectifier module peak efficiencies of up to 98%.

The new generation of intelligent power supplies supports smart load shifting, balancing power and reducing peak-hour electricity expenses. A project in Zhejiang Province, China, demonstrated annual savings of over $1,000 per site.

The battery cabinet includes high-capacity smart lithium batteries, which can be mixed with various other battery types, further enhancing energy savings. The cabinet provides constant voltage in long-distance power supply scenarios without needing extra boosting devices.

ZTE has also launched fully functional outdoor integrated cabinets that utilize these advanced technologies, coupled with flexible temperature control systems to optimize cooling and energy efficiency.

A key feature is the top-mounted solar panels on these cabinets, which not only shade the unit but also supplement power needs, utilizing cutting-edge MPPT technology to boost electricity production by up to 20%.

All-on-Pole: 97%-Efficiency Pad Power or Zero-Carbon Green Energy

To further slash energy costs, ZTE's all-on-pole solution consolidates all site equipment on a single pole, using natural heat dissipation methods. This setup can be powered entirely by green energy, making it particularly suitable for rural coverage where grid power is sparse.

New Cabinets with New Technologies Contribute to Energy Savings in Equipment Rooms

Centralizing BBUs in indoor energy-saving cabinets simplifies management and reduces energy demands. ZTE has integrated liquid cooling solutions to address energy consumption spikes in Centralized Radio Access Networks (CRAN), reducing power usage by over 30% in some cases.

Recently, ZTE has deployed liquid cooling technology in Anhui, China, achieving significant energy reductions and demonstrating the effectiveness of its advanced cooling solutions.
