What age did your child pedal a trike or bike please?

We bought my son a Scuttlebug on Amazon for his 2nd birthday last year. He quickly took to it and soon zoomed around the house like Damian in The Omen or Danny in The Shining. For Christmas, we then got him a balance bike and hid the Scuttlebug. He is doing really well on the balance bike. We let him ride it to our local shop where he often free-wheels but always stops at the curbs. I think the Scuttlebug builds initial confidence, and the balance bike does exactly what it's meant to. Our next move will be a bike with pedals for Christmas or his birthday next year. This progression removes the need for stabilizers and the fear of removing them later. Hope that helps!
