Alter your DNA? Well, yes radiation can alter DNA. But you need to know some things about that.First, any changes in DNA will be on a cell by cell basis. There is no way that the random changes would be the same in even two adjacent cells, much less all the cells in your body. So there is no way that you are going to change to wolf-man. And any altered cells will probably die and be disposed of by the body in the normal course of things. Only the rare change would be viable and would reproduce.Second, as I said before, the higher frequency the radiation, the more likelihood that it would induce a change. This is because the amount of energy in a single photon of radiation is proportional to the frequency. So, as Einstein discovered while explaining the photoelectric effect, once you go below a certain frequency, a particular change on the molecular level becomes impossible because the individual photons do not have enough energy to cause it. There is a definite cutoff point. Again, as I said above, the frequencies used for induction heating are at the very, very low end of the electromagnetic spectrum. So they are the least energetic and can do the least harm. The photons from the sun are far more dangerous as far as radiation goes so before avoiding induction heating, stay out of the sun and avoid all light for that matter. Even the room light where you are reading this is more dangerous. Remember that exposure to sun light is the principle cause of skin cancer.Yes, DO be aware of what you are standing next to. You are standing next to a very, very safe device. And if you are even six inches away, I doubt that you can detect any any effects from it's radiation without instruments that are very sensitive. As far as metal objects being heated by the coil or wires, just put a screwdriver near it. You will probably need to get within an inch or two before you can even detect the slightest increase in it's temperature. Stay as far away from it as that screwdriver can be brought while remaining at room temperature and you will be quite safe.I suspect that the radiation that they used in that documentary was in the microwave range or higher. I would not want to wait around for radiation under 1 MHz in frequency to have any effect. It would be a very boring wait. Induction heating is probably safer than using a gas torch or electric arc for welding. And I do have an a degree in physics in addition to a 45+ year career with devices that radiate high levels of RF power.
