Hy-Ribbed Formwork Widely Used in Concrete Construction

Hy-Ribbed Formwork, also referred to as Permanent Formwork, serves as an ideal consumable template in concrete construction. During the concrete pouring process, the mesh's open edges get embedded into the concrete, forming a mechanical wedge that seamlessly integrates with adjacent concrete structures. This method ensures a high-quality joint, matching the strength and adhesion of expertly rough-cut stitching. Eliminating the need for drilling or plucking during secondary pours, it effectively reduces construction time while enhancing the overall strength of the concrete.

The interface of the Hy-Ribbed Formwork sheet can produce a textured surface that offers excellent sealing for subsequent concrete pours. This allows for direct secondary pouring without manual processes like drilling, plucking, cleaning, or maintaining. As a result, it ensures that the old and new concrete seamlessly integrate into a solid, cohesive mass without seepage. The permanent formwork doesn't require removal or new sealing, facilitating easier preparation work for sealing.

With multi-performance capabilities, Hy-Ribbed Formwork is easy to cut and bend to accommodate various support needs, avoiding potential concrete damage from drilling or plucking. The mesh's open design aids in pressure distribution during cement mortar application, effectively dispersing around two-thirds of the pressure, far outpacing traditional formworks. Consequently, it reduces the demand for formwork support, cutting down labor and material costs.

The Hy-Ribbed Formwork Sheet remains attached to the concrete's surface, helping prevent cracks caused by temperature fluctuations. It efficiently accommodates steel bars, enabling uninterrupted bundling. The sheet's unique openings allow steel bars with diameters smaller than 12mm to pass through effortlessly, while larger bars can be threaded through by temporarily expanding the openings. Once the bars are in place, the mesh openings revert to their original positions. The formwork can also be installed before binding the steel bars, simplifying the process further.

Besides Hy-Ribbed Metal Mesh, TRICO also offers a variety of other metal meshes, including Rib Lath and Curved Metal Mesh. Contact us to find what you need.

Hy Rib Mesh for Concrete Permanent Formwork & Construction Joints

Hy rib mesh, also known as fast-ez high ribbed formwork, is manufactured by punching and profiling galvanized steel or stainless steel sheets. This jointless steel mesh is reinforced with integral ribs, primarily continuous parallel V ribs, which enhance its rigidity. The mesh can be easily curved in the direction of the V ribs, and its unique profile and hy-rib tangs make it suitable as a carrier for plaster, stucco, and fireproofing materials, as well as a permanent formwork for concrete.

Working Principle

When used as permanent formwork, Hy rib mesh ensures robust bonding for continuous concrete pouring. Embedded into the concrete, the mesh’s raised openings form a mechanical wedge that connects to adjacent pouring blocks. This method provides strong adhesion and shear resistance, guaranteeing superior joint quality. The elimination of drilling and furring during secondary concreting shortens the construction period and enhances the strength of the concerting part. Post-concreting, there's no need for dismantling; the support can simply be removed, saving time and accelerating construction progress.

Benefits

• Facilitates easy passage and continuous binding of steel bars. Its numerous openings allow steel bars with diameters up to 12mm to pass through effortlessly. For bars larger than 12mm, openings can be temporarily expanded to accommodate the bars, which later revert to their original positions. Installation can occur before binding steel bars, ensuring a streamlined process.

• Enables direct observation of the concreting process, reducing the risk of porosity and honeycombing thanks to its unique open structure.

• Lightweight and user-friendly for handling and installation, weighing only a tenth of set-shaped steel formworks, ensuring easy transport and quick installation.

• Optimizes concreted interfaces and enhances shear resistance by allowing mortar to penetrate through mesh openings, forming a coarse-grained interface.

• Suitable for segmented concrete pouring without requiring dismantling before the next pour, simplifying interface preparation.

• Easy to connect, cut, bend, and fold according to required support shapes, offering multi-performances.

• Excellent mechanical properties with reduced lateral pressure due to the hollow-carved mesh design, significantly lowering the formwork support.

• Resistant to peeling off or deformation even under extreme hot or cold weather conditions.

• Specially designed for superior concrete holding capability.
