Quartz is a great choice for those on a budget because it stays looking brand new for years you wont have to consider a replacement until very far down the road if ever. But thats not the only reason that it goes easy on the wallet. This article is here to outline a few reasons as to why quartz is a great choice for customers who want to stay within a certain price range.
If youre looking for a quality product for a quality price, keep reading. Were going to share four tips about saving money with quartz countertops.
Engineered quartz, while a man-made product, is mostly composed of natural materials. It includes 90-94% ground quartz, and 6-10% resins and pigments, and those ingredients combined turn it into the durable and nonporous final material. The durability of engineered quartz is impressive its resistant to scratching, dents, and abrasions, and it doesnt need to be sealed like natural stones do.
Quartz is also easy on the environment. Theres plenty of it available and the final product is nontoxic and hypoallergenic. It also lasts a lifetime, rarely needing to be replaced, so it doesnt create unnecessary waste.
Quartz can be used almost anywhere. Along with countertops, it can also be used for backsplashes, walls, and flooring. It also deals well with heat while we recommend that you practice caution with hot things on quartz, it holds up well under hot temperatures.
Something people love about quartz is the wide variety of options that its known for. No matter your preference, theres sure to be a style of quartz that fits what youre looking for all the while staying within your budget.
Quartz comes in an array of colors, patterns, and textures; theres something for everyone with this material. And these varieties are more consistent than natural stone, which is great for customers that gravitate towards uniformity over unpredictability.
Bright white is the most popular variation of quartz, but other colors include natural tones like gray and beige, black, and even red. (Common colors like white and cream are the least expensive, while rare colors tend to be higher in price.)
With all these colors to choose from, its less likely that youll have to stray from quartz and head to a more expensive stone. Everything you need is right in front of you.

The surface of engineered quartz has everything to do with how the quartz is ground. Quartz with a flecked appearance has been coarsely ground, while smooth quartz was finely ground.
Manufacturers have mastered the art of creating quartz countertops that mimic the look of natural stone. So, if youre looking for that class factor without shelling out tons of cash, this is the way to go.
There are plenty of reputable brands of engineered quartz to choose from, including Silestone, Caesarstone, Cambria, and more. The companies stand apart from one another with their unique color tones and styles, but you can find quality quartz from any of them. They all offer fair prices that allow you to stay within your budget, and the choice will most likely come down to which company stocks the color and style options that youre looking for.
You might not expect it, but cleaning and maintenance is yet another area that can save you money on engineered quartz. Instead of spending an arm and a leg on specialty cleaning products, all we recommend for daily cleaning is soap and water both of which you probably already have.
If theres a stubborn stain that just wont budge with soap and water, Soft Scrub is the way to go, which you can buy for close to nothing. The finish of your quartz countertop will remain intact throughout this cleaning, without the need for costly replacement.
Engineered quartz is known for being more affordable than granite and marble, but the final price will depend on the color that you choose and your location.
We cant say this enough: Dont discount the value of remnants! Especially if youre interested in staying within a budget, scrap yards are great places to start. You never know what you might find there; a diamond in the rough from someone elses leftover project could be waiting for you.

I am working with a KD and will be ordering my cabinets very soon. I am not sure if the price quoted for my quartz counters is competitive. I just feel like the KD place gets a cut when I can go straight to the source and save a bit, right? Does it make sense to buy those myself through a local company? I don't need to pick out a slab or anything because all I want is super white quartz. Any advice? Anything I am forgetting to consider--like will it be a hassle not having one place do it all. BTW, I am doing a big renovation and my contractor is doing the plumbing and electrical, not the KD place. Thanks!
